Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance Survey
Alberta Education and Childcare will once again conduct its annual survey of grade 4, 7, and 10 students and their parents or guardians. This survey will gather essential information about students’ and parents’ school experiences, helping to drive continuous improvements in our education system. This survey will remain open until March 6, 2026.
Parents or guardians of students in grade 4, 5, and 6 should have received an email from CBE School Improvement containing a link to the survey, along with a unique Random-Access Code and detailed instructions. Expanding the number of respondents in small schools like Woodlands allows us to have a higher respondent rate. Students in grade 4, 5, and 6 and teachers will complete the survey at school.
We strongly encourage all eligible parents and guardians to participate and share their feedback on their children’s education. Survey participants will be asked about various topics, including:
- creating welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments;
- student learning engagement; and
- parental involvement in children’s education.
By completing the survey, you are assisting Alberta Education and Childcare, CBE, and our school in identifying both areas of strength and areas that need improvement. Please ensure that you complete the survey by March 6. If you have questions or do not receive a code, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Elev8 Lacrosse
Elev8 Lacrosse will be at Woodlands School February 2 to 6. Students will acquire lacrosse skills through a variety of developmentally appropriate movement activities in a varied environment while experiencing the health benefits that result from physical activity. ELEV8 encourages students to interact positively with others while demonstrating etiquette and fair play. Beyond lacrosse, the physical components also focus on skills such as running, jumping, throwing and catching, which are fundamental to any sport. Check out the linked video to see what students will be learning. Youtube Video - Elev8 Lacrosse

Report Cards | Available Online February 24
Families will be able to view online student report cards for Kindergarten to Grade 12 on February 24, 2026. This is about one month later than usual. The extended time is due to the labour action time away from school in October. Report cards may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed. Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view report cards.
Inform | Kindergarten Registration 2026-27
Kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year will begin on Monday Jan. 12, 2026. Children can be registered for kindergarten if they turn five years old, on or before Dec. 31 of the school year they will be in kindergarten. For example, when registering for the 2026-27 school year, the child must turn five on or before Dec. 31, 2026.
Additionally, parents can find information on kindergarten registration on the public CBE website.
Registering early for kindergarten helps the school organize for the coming year. If you have an older child in grades 1-6, please register your kindergarten eligible child as early as possible.
