Schol Council Casino Fundraiser - Volunteers Needed


Woodlands School Parent Council has a very important fundraiser coming up and we really need your help. On April 24th and 25th we must provide the volunteers needed to run the Deerfoot Inn & Casino’s cash cage, in return the province will give our association a portion of the gaming profit raised between April & June.

This fundraiser is so important because it can bring in over $70,000 to parent council. That money goes directly to benefit all students. Recent examples of some things sponsored by our council using casino funds are rollerblading, bringing in One World Drum, and purchasing additional electronics and sports equipment. Our next big goal is to help the school transition the library area into a Learning Commons space.

What do we need? Just your time. We have 6 shifts to fill over the two days and will need 6 volunteers per shift. That’s a lot of volunteers for a small school like ours! Please consider helping, extended family and friends are welcome to volunteer too. The positions are not hard or stressful, anyone can do them plus we will have an advisor helping us the entire time. Past volunteers have said it is a lot of fun! Meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included and we can help with transportation.

Volunteers signing up for position of General Manager, Banker, Cashier or Countroom Supervisor must fill in the AGLC Casino Volunteer Worker Application, the Casino Coordinator will send this to you after you sign up.

  • Dress code is business casual – jeans are fine, as long as they are not ripped.
  • You must be 18 or older and will need to bring photo ID
  • You can only do one shift per day
  • You cannot drink alcohol or play any casino games
