Woodlands Weekly Update
Looking Ahead: Remembrance Day
Our students have been preparing for our Remembrance Day Assembly this week which is being hosted by our Grade 5 classes. In classrooms, stories, discussions, and activities students will learn about the importance of remembering those who have served and sacrificed our country and important traditions that surround November 11 in Canada.
Fall Break Reminder
Thursday, November 7 is the last day of classes before Fall Break. There will be no school November 8-12. Classes will resume on Wednesday, November 13. We hope all families enjoy a safe, restful, and enjoyable break together.
Volunteer Opportunities
Parent volunteers play an important role in helping create meaningful experiences for students and supporting the many activities that take place throughout the year.
If you are interested in becoming involved, we encourage you to connect with School Council through Instagram at@woodlands.school.council or by email at woodlandsschoolcouncilyyc@gmail.com.
Whether you can volunteer occasionally or throughout the year, every contribution is valued and appreciated.
Fun Lunches
The School Council Fun Lunch program continues to provide a convenient lunch option for families. If you have not yet registered, please visit Healthy Hunger to view upcoming lunch dates and place orders. Thank you to the volunteers who help coordinate and distribute lunches throughout the year. Their efforts help make this program possible. https://healthyhunger.ca/
Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found collection continues to grow as students transition to colder weather and additional outdoor clothing. If your child is missing a jacket, water bottle, lunch kit, mittens, or other personal item, please encourage them to check the Lost & Found. Labelling belongings with your child's name remains one of the best ways to help items return home.
Street Parking & Community Safety
Thank you for helping keep our students safe during arrival and dismissal times.
Please continue to:
- Avoid U-turns near the school.
- Refrain from double parking.
- Keep crosswalks clear.
- Respect posted parking restrictions.
- Avoid blocking driveways.
Our neighbours are valued members of the Woodlands community, and your cooperation helps maintain positive relationships while ensuring everyone's safety.
Dogs on School Property
A reminder that dogs are not permitted on school property. This expectation supports the safety, comfort, and well-being of all students and aligns with CBE expectations and City of Calgary bylaws.
Thank you for your cooperation.
