π Halloween Costume Day - Friday
Students are welcome to wear costumes to school on Friday if they wish to participate. While we look forward to a fun day of learning and school spirit, we ask families to help us ensure costumes are appropriate for a school setting.
Please remember:
- No masks that cover the face, nor weapons or weapon replicas. Avoid costumes that are violent, graphic, or gory; and choose costumes that are respectful of all cultures, identities, and beliefs.
- Students should be able to participate in learning activities comfortably and safely.
Students who prefer not to wear a costume are encouraged to join in the fun by wearing orange and black.
π Halloween Candy
As a reminder, to support student well-being, nutrition, and allergy awareness, please do not send candy or treats to school. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
π€ Thank You to School Council & Parent Society
We continue to be incredibly grateful for the dedication of our School Council and Parent Society. Their commitment to supporting student learning, enhancing school experiences, and strengthening our community has a significant impact on our school.
Many of the opportunities our students enjoy throughout the year are made possible through the efforts of parent volunteers and the generosity of our school community. Whether organizing events, supporting fundraising initiatives, or volunteering their time behind the scenes, these individuals help make Woodlands an exceptional place to learn and grow.
π Volunteer Opportunities
Parent volunteers play an important role in creating memorable experiences for our students and fostering the strong sense of community that makes Woodlands so special.
If you are able to volunteer for an upcoming event, we encourage you to get involved. Whether you can help occasionally or more regularly throughout the year, every contribution is appreciated and valued.

π Halloween Dance
A sincere thank you goes out to our School Council for planning and hosting the event last week.
π Fun Lunches
The School Council organized Fun Lunch program continues to be a convenient way for families to order lunch. If you have not yet registered, please visit: https://healthyhunger.ca/ Β Β to view upcoming lunch dates and learn place orders.
Thank you to the volunteers who help coordinate and distribute lunches throughout the year. Their support helps make this program possible.
Β Reminders & Upcoming Dates
Β π U-Turns, Double Parking Blocking Crosswalks & Respecting Our Neighbours
We appreciate families' ongoing efforts to help keep our students safe during arrival and dismissal times. Please follow all posted parking regulations and avoid stopping in no-parking zones, blocking driveways, or making unsafe turns near the school.
Our neighbours play an important role in our broader community, and your consideration during these busy times helps maintain positive relationships and contributes to the safety of everyone around our school.
Β π Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found collection continues to grow. If your child is missing a jacket, water bottle, lunch kit, or other item, please encourage them to check the Lost & Found. Labelling belongings with your child's name helps items find their way back home. This is a common reminder shared by many schools during the fall months as outdoor clothing begins to accumulate.
π«π Dogs on School Property
We kindly remind families that dogs are not permitted on school property. This expectation supports the safety, comfort, and well-being of all students and aligns with CBE and City of Calgary By-law.
We appreciate the cooperation of families in making alternate arrangements for pets when visiting the school and thank everyone for helping maintain a safe environment for students.
Quick Reminders
- Report absences through email woodlands@cbe.ab.ca
- Dress for outdoor weather.
- Label student belongings.
