It is an exciting time around Woodlands School when we celebrate birthdays, holidays and other special occasions. In the past, it was acceptable for students to bring in a treat such as cupcakes to share with their classmates on their birthday and classroom celebrations. This practice is no longer encouraged due to the number of students with food allergies and other dietary restrictions which can cause food allergy emergencies.

Instead, we encourage families who choose to celebrate birthdays with the class, send a small item, such as a pencil or other non-food item. This aligns with our policy that students do not share snacks or lunches which each other.
