School Conferences
School Conferences will be held the evening of Thursday, November 27 (kindergarten will have times available during the day) and in the morning on Friday, November 28; EES families will be able to book the evenings of November 25, 26 and 27. These meetings will be held in person at Woodlands School and are an important component of our reporting process to parents. The conference is designed as an opportunity for teachers to update parents and guardians on their child’s progress. Bookings closed on Tuesday, November 25.
Ms. Kyra, our Music teacher is available for appointments on Friday, November 28 only.
Please Check the Lost and Found
School conference evening/morning are a great time to check for any of those missing items that your child can’t seem to find. We have sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, hats and mitts. Items not claimed by Winter Break will be donated to charity. Please ensure you pick up any lost items before December 18.
Woodlands School Improvement Results Report and School Development Plan
At the Woodlands School Council meeting on November 19, we shared achievement and perception data specific to our school goals. This data is now posted on the Woodlands School Website under the Our School tab. The data informed the creation of updated school goals for 2025-26. Those goals and actions are outlined in the School Development Plan now posted on website on the same page. We appreciate the engagement and feedback of parents and families in this process to support student achievement.
Individual Photo Retakes
Please ensure your child knows if you would like them to have their photo retaken. Students who missed the first photo day will automatically be sent to have their photo taken. Bring your smile!
Kananaskis in the Classroom – 9:00 AM Whole School Performance – Weather the Storm
When it comes to weather, the sun is calling the shots. Come see what happens when she gets angry at a hiker who relies on ‘Gooble’ for updates on the weather over her. Learn the ins and outs of weather and how it works and meet some fun characters along the way!
The performance will inspire curiosity and connect audiences to the natural world. Students are engaged in curriculum through catchy music, exciting, costumed characters and audience participation. Presentation includes a 50-minute theatrical show for the whole school (K-6) and four follow-up sessions to allow students to delve deeper into the topic with activities, props and hands-on exploration.
Woodlands Winter Showcase Evening – December 18
Please come and enjoy a short performance and winter themed artwork in the Woodlands gym according to the following schedule.
- 5:30 – 6:15 PM (Ms. Melbourn, Ms. Hogan and Ms. Nicholas)
- 6:15 – 7:00 PM (Ms. Kuehner, Mr. Smith, Ms. Krahn and Ms. Nicolaou)
- 7:00 – 7:30 PM (Mr. Herold, Mr. Camden and Ms. Ellis)
- We will be collecting items and donations for Woodcreek Community Pantry December 8 – 19. We are happy to accept new, non-perishable food items, toiletry items, diapers, grocery gift cards and cash donations anytime during this window.
