Farewell Message
As we conclude another excellent year of learning, thank-you to our students and their families for your support, dedication and positive energy. The combination truly made for a great year. It is our hope that everyone has a safe, restful and relaxing summer holiday.
If you are returning to Woodlands School for the fall of 2026, we look forward to working with you and your children once again. The school office is open Wednesday, August 26 – Friday, August 28. School will start on Monday, August 31 for a regular full day of learning. Please watch your email for further information and please check the Back to School Information found on the Woodlands website. By August 27, if you are returning to Woodlands, you will receive an email from your teacher welcoming you back and sharing details for our start on August 31. If your child is moving on to a different school for the 2026-27 school year, we wish you the very best!
Staffing Updates at Woodlands
We will say farewell to the following staff members with gratitude for their dedicated service:
Ms. Sandy Krahn is retiring after 23 years at Woodlands School.
Ms. Kyra Sidor has accepted a position as the Music Teacher at Colonel Sanders School. Ms. Ginger Switzer will be returning to her role as Music Teacher at Woodlands.
Ms. Anna-Jane Melbourn has accepted a position teaching Grade One at Dr. Freda Miller School. We welcome Ms. Jessica Younker as our Kindergarten teacher.
Ms. Andrea Nicholas has accepted a position as Learning Leader and Grade 2 Teacher at LeRoi Daniels School.
Mr. William Camden has accepted a position as Middle School Science Teacher with Golden Hills School Division in Strathmore.
Ms. Tamra Wilcox will move to a position as Early Learning Strategist in CBE and Ms. Marina Clark has accepted the Principal position at Woodlands. Ms. Clark will begin her role in late August 2026.
Welcome to Ms. Jasmine Zaba, Mr. Andy Hitchcock, Ms. Jessica Younker and Ms. Emily Stremick as teachers at Woodlands next year. Please also welcome Ms. Nicolette Gatica Uribe and Ms. Jess Leung in EA roles at Woodlands next year.
We will keep you updated in August of any additional staffing updates for 2026-27.
School Council Updates
Farewell and thank you to parents of students who are moving on that have served on our School Council with great dedication and energy, including our Council Co-Chair Pam Ashcroft. Thank you for your generous gift of time that has benefitted all students.
Thank you to all members of School Council and volunteers across the school who have helped to make this school year so memorable and enjoyable. Thank-you to those who have accepted roles on Council for next year including Co-Chairs Tea Cymek and Dustin Worts. Please see the Woodlands School website for full Council updates. Consider attending Council Meetings next year to stay in the know and support students in any way that suits your schedule and interest!

Lost and Found
Our lost and found items are piling up! Stop by the office after the end of the school day to take a look. We have sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, snow pants, hats and mittens. Items not claimed by Summer Break will be donated to charity. Please ensure you pick up any lost items before Friday, June 26.
Stampede Breakfast Thank-you
Thank-you to Woodlands parent Ryan McCosh for organizing a visit from the Calgary Stampede Caravan Committee to serve up an amazing breakfast for students, families and staff on June 24. Thanks also to Woodlands School Council for providing a juice box beverage on this day.
Report Cards
Families can view, download or print online report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 students June 25 – July 31, 2026 through MyCBE. Within MyCBE, families can also view student information, comments from your child's teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information.
Please note: After July 31, 2026, report cards will no longer be available to access in MyCBE.

June 26 is the Last Day of School
Friday, June 26 is the last day of school. School will end at 12:40 PM. The PM kindergarten class attends on this morning.
Fees and Waivers Due before June 30
A reminder school fees for lunchroom and student supplies are due before June 30, 2026. Payments can be made online through your MyCBE/PowerSchool account or in the school office using debit/credit. Fieldtrip fees are also due and can be paid online.
Low income families can submit a waiver application to waive CBE Central Fees including lunch supervision and student supplies. Waiver applications for the current school year are available through your MyCBE/PowerSchool account or can be submitted for you by providing the appropriate documentation to the main office before June 25. Please call ahead to make arrangements for this service. For further details, please visit Fees and Waivers on the CBE website.
Please be aware that unpaid fees for this year will be added to your account for next year. As well, waiver applications will only apply to the school year in which they were approved. An approved 2025/26 waiver will not cover previous years nor will it cover next year. Waiver applications must be submitted each year for approval. The deadline for 2025/26 fee waiver application is June 30.
English as an Additional Language
Please see the attachments for two summer camp opportunities offered by The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth (CBFY).
Bridge Summer Camp is a three-week program (Mon - Thurs) open to all students in Grades 1-9. There are two sessions offered: July 6-22 and July 27-Aug 13. The registration link is: https://pci.jotform.com/form/261394134148255
