Welcome Back to the First Week of 2026-2027!
We are so excited to have all our student back in the building as we start another exciting new year at Woodlands School. Each Wednesday we will be posting our Weekly Update on the Woodlands School website. This publication will let you know about exciting news and happenings around Woodlands School for the coming week. In addition, if you are looking for more detailed information about our school, upcoming events, policies, teacher blog links, etc. check the school website for more details. As well you can find additional important CBE system dates on the Woodlands School Instructional Calendar and in the Woodlands School Calendar section.
Parking Changes !!
We have some changes to the parking on Woodgreen Drive and wanted you to be aware of them.
From the corner of Woodgreen Drive and Woodpark Blvd to the end of the tennis courts is now a No Parking, passenger loading zone from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on school days, 10 minutes maximum.
Along Woodgreen Drive from the front of the school east to the end of the school property/neighbour’s fence is a School bus only zone from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
If you are driving your child to or from school we ask that you read and follow all signage. The parking lot across the street from the school is available to families. For safety reasons, the school parking lot is not to be used for dropping off or picking up children.
The children have been asked to walk around the staff parking lot as opposed to walking through it. When you are dropping or picking up children from the front of the school, cross the street with the School Patrols.

Woodlands School Council Meeting
Our School Council is very excited to welcome everyone back for the start of the 2025-26 school year. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend the School Council meeting which will be held on September 23 at 6:30 PM at Woodlands School in our Learning Commons. School Council welcomes all parents/guardians of Woodlands School who are interested in joining the council executive, or those who just want to listen, learn, and be part of sharing ideas about our school. Meeting dates for the year as well as meeting agendas, minutes, and Council members are on the Woodlands School website at the link above.
After School Dismissal
A reminder to families that there is no after school adult supervision at the playground or on the school grounds. Students are encouraged to leave the school to travel home after school, unless they are supervised by you at the playground or on school grounds. This really helps to reduce the likelihood of students in conflict with one another. We appreciate your support with this.
Your MyCBE Account
Please ensure you have access to your MyCBE account. MyCBE is the simplest and most convenient way to book parent teacher conferences, register for school services (e.g., lunch supervision), apply for waivers, and pay fees including noon supervision services, drop-in lunch fees and field trips.
Using MyCBE for ALL fee payments is the preferred payment option for all CBE families when paying for school-based and board-based fees. Credit/Debit card payments can also be made at the school. No Cash or Cheques accepted in the school office.
Need help setting up your MyCBE Account or with submitting a waiver, please view the step by step instructions on the CBE website under Technical support for Student and Parents or phone 403-817-6373 or visit the school for assistance.
Demographic Verification Forms and Consents
Please login to your MyCBE account to update your information. Often phone numbers change or an address has an incorrect postal code - so check carefully. As well, remember to add contact information for any before/after school care groups who will be delivering or picking up your child(ren) after school!
Online Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization Forms
SchoolEngage is CBE’s online application for collecting student data. It is a program that allows legal guardians to submit student information through online forms and upload related documents. The following will need to be completed this year:
- Demographic Verification Form (formerly Student Demographic Verification Form)
REMEMBER to include your child's after school care in the contact information with pickup permission!
- Annual Authorization Form (combines the following):
o School District Use of Personal Information
o Consent for CBE Use of Student Information
o Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups - Citizenship Information Update Form
- SchoolEngage can be accessed through the MyCBE Public Portal website for Legal Guardians. For detailed instructions for parents, please visit Technical Support for Students and Parents or School Engage Help. The Demographic Verification Form and Annual Authorization Form must be completed before the end of September.
Lunch Supervision – Registration Deadline End of September
A reminder to families to register for Lunch Supervision Services for those students bringing their lunch to school. Woodlands School has a 4-day a week Monday to Thursday program. Students must register for the Noon Supervision program through MyCBE. For more information visit our Noon Supervision page. Registration is required now. The fee will be applied to your MyCBE Account mid October. Waivers are available through your MyCBE account to low-income families for this fee.
Reporting Late and Absent Students
At Woodlands School one of our greatest priorities is ensuring that all our students arrive safely to school. Please report all late and/or absent students. Send emails to woodlands@cbe.ab.ca or call our attendance line at 403-777-8640 extension 1 to leave a message. Please do not call the office directly, as the mornings are very busy in the main office. If your child will be away for several days for any reason, emailing or calling the school with dates for an extended absence is required. When a student is away on an extended leave of two weeks or more, an Extended Absence Form must be completed by a legal guardian.
Free YMCA Pass for Grade 6 students
Every Grade 6 student in Calgary is eligible to receive a free YMCA 13-month membership to the YMCA, thanks to the generous support of the Calgary Flames Foundation. Learn more: https://www.ymcacalgary.org/grade6
